It was a pleasure to receive your email. We are are not surprised at your surprised introduction to the wonders of medicinal charcoal. Even those who work in hospitals are often unaware of the many uses of charcoal in their workplace.
This site will give you an idea of the varied applications of activated charcoal including health.

We are also the owners of BuyActivatedCharcoal.com (Charcoal House LLC) We sell to different DOD vendors. We have supplied charcoal for NASA research and for nuclear submarines and everywhere in between. The German Army has a protocol for severe burns using charcoal wound dressing. (wounds).

Missionaries who do not have access to activated charcoal and ACC+ wound dressings see similar benefits using plain, finely ground charcoal powder.

I have come to believe charcoal actually does not cure anything in the literal sense. What it does, and does so well in industry, is to remove toxins. Then the body is much better able to heal itself as the Creator intended it to do.

A good friend of mine was a Canadian soldier and later a medic in Afghanistan. We had worked together on a remote Pacific Island teaching organic gardening and he learned first hand about charcoal. Later when he was in Afghanistan he quietly treated soldiers infected feet with charcoal poultices – he was not sure how his remedy would be viewed by his commanding officer.

When we were in Uganda in 2011, we found ourselves in a very out of the way village giving some talks and demonstrations on charcoal at the intersection of two roads. While my wife was demonstrating how to make a charcoal poultice a tall stately man walking by stopped, then came over to watch. He later introduced himself as the commanding officer of the large army base down one of the roads. Like you he was absolutely amazed and captivated by the possibilities of charcoal as a medicinal.

While we do have opportunity to travel and give programs in foreign countries, when it comes to knowledge about God’s simple inexpensive and effective remedies, I have to wonder if developed nations are all that far ahead of developing countries. With crippling health care practices (physically, psychologically, and economically) America desperately needs to rediscover natural medicine including charcoal.
