When folks who have just learned about charcoal call me and start asking all kinds of questions about activated charcoal, what it is, how is it made, what does it taste like, what is a poultice, I always give them the same answer, similar to what Maria, in ‘The Sound of Music,’ gave the children when she taught them the musical notes, I always respond with: “Start with reading the book, Charcoal Remedies.com, The Complete Handbook of Medicinal Charcoal and Its Applications.    Once you have read the book and if you have questions after that, then contact us.

So that is where I will begin with this blog.  I know that several of you have already read the book and you have long been charcoal enthusiasts, but for the beginners and those who have been just using activated charcoal for stomach upsets and little more, I cannot encourage you strongly enough to get the book.  It is available as a hard copy as well as an e-book, and also as a PDF download.  Hard copy is my favorite. I am on the computer all day long and at night when I read, I want to hold a real book in my hand and give my eyes a rest.

Now, taking my eyes away from the computer is not the only way that I can give my eyes a needed a rest, making a charcoal poultice is really an amazing way to soothe computer weary eyes, and even eyes that have diseases, but oh, I am getting ahead of myself!
